The United Way of Rome & Floyd County held its Annual Meeting on Wednesday March 12, 2008.  At this meeting we recognized Brenda Waltz of Redmond Regional Medical Center for her magnificent leadership as the 2007-2008 Campaign Chair.  We also watched as the Presidents’ Gavel was passed from Ron Tomlinson, President and CEO of Coosa Valley Federal Credit Union, to Randy Quick of Southern Broadcasting.  This year is looking to be an exciting one, with Steven McDowell, 2008-2009 Campaign Chair announcing our goal for this year of 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS!!!!!  It is our sincerest hope that we can pull the Rome and Floyd county community together and raise more than we have ever raised before!  But most importantly, we recognized our Hugh Burns Spirit Award winner, Mr. George Reynolds, a board member and volunteer at the Rebecca Blaylock Child Development Center.  Giving Mr. Reynolds this award was our deepest pleasure and an incredible way to kick off such an exciting year.  We are looking forward with great anticipation of wonderful things to come!  Don’t forget……..EVERY ONE COUNTS!!!!
